Revision 2 enclosure released

Posted on May 1, 2014

The screws that hold the lid on the MilkMaven unit have been known to strip if installed with too much torque. We have found removing these screws with a cordless impact driver with a #2 Phillips-head bit greatly reduces problems with the screws stripping. We have also made available new screws that require a 2.5 mm Allen bit. If you need the new screws, please contact your dealer or the FarmMaven team.

Controllers and repeaters NOT waterproof

Posted on May 1, 2014

MilkMaven controllers and repeaters are not waterproof. It is the responsibility of the dealer to ensure both devices are installed in a location where they will not come in contact with water. It is also the responsibility of the dealer to train the farmer and associated staff to understand the controller and repeater are computers that should be handled with care. Any damage caused by water or the negligence of the farmer will not be covered under warranty.

Installations need at least 48 hours notice

Posted on May 1, 2014

For full and demo kit installations that require the assistance of the FarmMaven team, you should send an email to support@farmmaven.com. The installation needs to be coordinated with at least 48 hours’ notice to guarantee the FarmMaven team will be available.

Advance notice of demo helps all parties

Posted on May 1, 2014

If you know you are performing a demo on a given day, you should send an email to support@farmmaven.com to inform the FarmMaven team in advance. This helps us plan our maintenance release scheduling so it does not interfere with your demo.

Battery life test result

Posted on May 1, 2014

A recently conducted battery life test for the MilkMaven controller yielded the following results:

Diagnostic mode performed Estimated battery life

Every 24 hours

376 days
Every 12 hours 362 days
Every 8 hours 350 days
Every 4 hous 296 days
Every hour 197 days

Assumptions

1) Polling interval of 2 minutes (120 seconds), which is the case on full installations of MilkMaven.
2) Assuming the use of batteries approved by FarmMaven (Duracell MN1500).
3) Assuming 1 diagnostic mode failure per month per sensor, which results in 3 consecutive diagnostic modes.
4) The MilkMaven controller has not been disconnected, whether intentionally or unintentionally, from a power source.
5) Battery life test results are not an exact science; they are only estimates. There are no warranties associated to estimated battery life.
